Meet Kate

Kate is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Stillbirth and Bereavement Doula

My passion and experience as a stillbirth doula led to the broader scope of working with those who have experienced the loss of a loved one or loved ones at any age.

Losing a baby or babies prior to birth is one of the most heart-wrenching and unimaginable events a family can go through.  The grief is unlike any other, and in much of our society there are no prescribed rituals to cope with this type of grief.  Friends and family often don’t know what to say or do.  There may never be an answer to the cause, and there is a risk of blame getting cast in every direction.  This can be extremely isolating for the newly bereft family.   The thought of planning a funeral service for a newborn baby or a baby not yet born can feel like an impossible task.

It is an honor to work with families to not only provide counseling but to support and provide resources when decision making feels impossible.

I love working with older adults who are at higher risk for compounding losses and complex grief.  Older adults are also less likely to find the care they need for any mental health diagnoses in our youth-focused culture.  Providing a space of warmth and open understanding has always been my goal when working with older adults.  As providers, we have the unique ability to help older adults find ways to cope with grief, stress, improve their mood and overall functioning, and create space for them to tell their stories.

When not working…

Kate can be found hanging out at her mom’s house down the road with whichever family members she can drag along with her.

She was born and raised in Delaware and calls herself a homebody who sometimes likes to travel. Kate lives with her wife, mother-in-law, five outrageously energetic kids, and three cats in a multi-cultural and multi-generational household that is filled with chaos of all varieties. She loves her career and has always been drawn to the helping professions. She is constantly grateful to her wife, mother, and mother-in-law for holding down the fort while she works!

She loves to get together with colleagues and friends, for coffee, snacks, long walks, gardening, or the most important event of all, Phillies games.  During baseball season you can find her and her wife with friends and family at Citizens Bank Park or glued to the TV.  She is proud to acknowledge that she knows nothing about any other sport but is always happy to learn from clients!

Meet Carly

Carly DILL, B.s. (She/her)

Achieve your hope.

Achieve your hope.

Carly is a Pre-Licensed Therapist Specializing in OCD and Trauma-Related Disorders

Graduation date 9/2024

My experience working in trauma has always felt organic to me. After graduating from Pennsylvania State University in 2020, I continued my love for helping as a medical trauma case manager at an orthopedic surgical practice serving Level One trauma patients in Delaware. I found myself noticing the mental health impacts of the trauma(s) my patients experienced; it was then that I decided to dive back into school to pursue my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My clinical focus is grief, trauma, OCD, anxiety, LGBTQ+ related issues, and dissociative disorders using a psychosomatic approach.

When not working…

Carly often spends her free time having friends over, doing a spontaneous DIY project around the house, arts and crafts, taking care of her houseplants, learning a new skill (most recently - crochet!), reading, birdwatching, or perusing the clearance aisle at Marshall’s. As a foodie, she loves trying new foods, but also loves eating the same tried and true foods for the millionth time in a row.

Because she is so passionate about her work and helping people, Carly finds joy in talking about psychology, human and brain development, relationship dynamics, & all things therapy outside of work, too. She feels fortunate that most of the clients she sees are clients she started with, and her favorite part of being a therapist is making deep connections in a way that feels like sitting on your friend’s couch on a Saturday night talking about the meaning of life. She loves personalizing her office with art, candles, prints, fun pillows, blankets, suncatchers, patches, and other knick-knacks that make the space feel cozy. Carly believes that physical and emotional comfort are crucial aspects of working in trauma and healing, so it is not uncommon to see her in sweatpants and sometimes even fuzzy socks!
